In a broader sense, many unauthorized or unregulated companies will also attempt to illegally market their services or act as a clone of a regulated company. Regulators are key to eradicating these fraud operations as they prevent significant risks for investors. With regard to reporting, brokers are also required to submit regular reports on their clients` positions to the relevant regulatory authorities. The recent regulatory push following the Great Financial Crisis of 2008 has led to a significant shift in the regulatory reporting landscape. Brokers typically outsource reporting to other companies that connect the trade repositories used by regulators to the broker`s systems and take care of this crucial element of compliance. Beyond FX, regulators help align all oversight issues and are watchdogs for any industry.
